The department oversees the development and construction of all City parks and recreation facilities and is responsible for building and lawn maintenance for all City structures and facilities. The department coordinates all summer activities, adult and youth sports year round and special events. The Parks and Recreation Department has one of the largest Community Services Program in Brazoria County. This program has been a significant cost savings program for the City of Alvin each year and provides us with help to keep our City streets and parks clean.
